Located in beautiful downtown Delray Beach, Florida, the Delray Open holds historical significance to many players on the tour.   Back in 2000, Andy Roddick played his first ATP tour level event at the Delray Beach ITC.   In 2008 and 2010, Kei Nishikori and Ernests Gulbis, respectively, won their first and as of yet, only ATP titles, in Delray.   Xavier Malisse has been a finalist at the tournament five times and has won twice.

The 2011 Delray Beach ITC will have large current significance to a number of players, as well.   Returning back for the first time since 2003, Andy Roddick will try to win his first title in Delray and first ATP title since Miami (the other Florida tournament), last March.  This is also a golden opportunity for Juan Martin Del Potro, who is making his first appearance at Delray, to win his first tournament since his 2009 US Open title.

With two US Open champions in Roddick and Del Potro, four former Delray champions in Mardy Fish, Nishikori, Malisse and Ricardo Mello, and other top names like John Isner, Radek Stepanek, Janko Tipsarevic, Ivo Karlovic and James Blake, the 2011 Delray Open promises to be the best one yet.
